The Government welcomes the appointment of Mark Grant as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).
Mr Grant joins AITSL from the New South Wales Government and brings an ability to work across all levels of government and collaborate with jurisdictions.
Mr Grant has worked as a teacher and school principal, and held education leadership positions at the regional and state level.
I look forward to working constructively and cooperatively with Mr Grant.
I thank the former Chief Executive Officer Lisa Rodgers and acting Chief Executive Officer Edmund Misson for their service.
The Government also welcomes the announcement of Christopher Wardlaw PSM continuing as Deputy Chair of the AITSL Board for an additional three-year term.
AITSL is a Commonwealth company responsible for driving reforms to improve teaching and school leadership, and to elevate the status of teaching and principal professions.
