Minister for Education Dan Tehan has paid tribute to the teachers who make a difference in the lives of their students on Australian World Teachers’ Day today.
"On World Teachers’ Day we recognise our hardworking teachers and say ‘thank you’ for your passion, efforts and creativity," Mr Tehan said.
"Everyone can remember the teachers who had the biggest impact on their education.
"Great teachers don’t just happen. They are the product of many years of learning, mentoring and practice.
"On World Teachers’ Day we celebrate the contribution our teachers make."
In Australia, there are more than 280,000 full-time equivalent teachers working across our State, Catholic and Independent schools.
