The Deputy Prime Minister, Julia Gillard will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland later this week.
The World Economic Forum, which will run from 28 January to 1 February, will look at the global financial crisis and ways to stabilise and relaunch the global economy.
With the theme “Shaping the Post-Crisis World”, the Forum aims to provide an opportunity for all stakeholders to work together to address global challenges.
The Deputy Prime Minister will meet with heads of government, social entrepreneurs and non government organisations attending the World Economic Forum to discuss responses to the global financial crisis.
The Rudd Labor Government has acted decisively to help buffer the Australian economy from the worst of the global financial crisis.
In just over three months, the Rudd Government has invested more than $36 billion in a targeted way to support Australian jobs and growth.
The Deputy Prime Minister will represent the Australian Government, together with the Minister for Trade, Simon Crean.
