Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, Senator Chris Evans, has congratulated Lisa Paul AO, after she was named the Federal Government Leader of the Year at an awards ceremony in Canberra today.
Senator Evans said Ms Paul, the Secretary of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), was one of two public servants to be honoured for their leadership qualities at the Chartered Accountants Leadership in Government Awards.
“Ms Paul is a dedicated professional who has overseen the implementation of a wide range of policies and reform during her outstanding career in the public service,” Senator Evans said.
“Ms Paul is very deserving of this award – she has made an incredible contribution to the public service, having worked for successive governments enabling important reforms to be implemented.”
The Federal Government Leader of the Year Award recognises those senior leaders who have played a major role in policy formulation.
Senator Evans also congratulated First Assistant Secretary of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Stephen Sheehan, who was presented with the Outstanding Contribution in Public Administration Award.
The Awards were hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
