Minister for Employment Participation and Member for Adelaide Kate Ellis is reminding all Adelaide job seekers of the popular one-stop-jobs and skills shop which will return to Adelaide on Wednesday, 12 June.
The Adelaide Jobs and Skills Expo will provide hundreds of employment and skills training opportunities for local job seekers.
So far 78 expos have been held across the country resulting in more than 27,000 job seekers connected with jobs through the expos.
Ms Ellis said the expo provided a practical way to connect job seekers looking for work with employers with jobs and skills training opportunities.
“The Jobs and Skills Expos are a unique way of assisting people who are genuinely looking for work,” she said.
They’re a one-stop jobs and skills marketplace, where job seekers, employers and skills training organisations can engage in person one-on-one and build relationships which often lead to jobs or linking people with the skills needed to get a job.
“The previous Jobs and Skills Expos held in Adelaide last year connected more than 500 job seekers with hundreds of employment and skills training vacancies, so I’m encouraging job seekers from Adelaide to attend the expo and take advantage of the positions on offer.
“There’ll be big jobs boards filled with current and future job vacancies and skills training opportunities in many different fields, for people of all ages and skill sets.
“There will also be the Resources Sector Jobs Board to help local job seekers make the most employment opportunities in the booming resources industry.
The Australian Government Jobs and Skills Expo will be held on Wednesday, 12 June from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Port Road, Hindmarsh.
