Hundreds of jobs on offer at Adelaide expo

The Hon Kate Ellis MP
Minister for Employment Participation
Member for Adelaide

Hundreds of work and training opportunities will be on offer at the Jobs and Skills Expo in Adelaide tomorrow.

The Expo will be the 79th since the highly successful national series of Expos began in 2009 and the fourth held in the Adelaide area.

More than 100 exhibitors will set up shop at the Expo and look to fill their current vacancies.

Employment Participation Minister and Member for Adelaide Kate Ellis said the thousands of Adelaide job seekers expected to pass through the doors tomorrow will be treated to a massive marketplace of jobs and training opportunities.

“These Expos are one of a kind and they deliver great results,” Ms Ellis said.

“More than 27,100 Australians have been connected with employment and training opportunities since the expos began, including more than 1,000 right here in Adelaide.”

“These expos bring employers, job seekers and training providers together in a single location. They’re the ultimate job matching event.

“The expo held in Adelaide late last year attracted 5,100 people and connected 520 with employment and training opportunities and we expect even more opportunities to open up with this expo.”

Ms Ellis said the Expo will have a jobs board listing current job opportunities, as well as a skills board where local skills training organisations can promote training opportunities available in the local area.

“This expo is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to improve employment options for local people,” she said.

“Exhibiting is free and it’s a great way for local employers to connect with motivated local job seekers.

“If you can’t be an exhibitor, your job vacancy or skills training opportunity can still be displayed at the expo on the day.”

The expo will be held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, 98 Port Road, Hindmarsh, from 10am to 3pm.
