The Coalition Government remains absolutely committed to the Work for the Dole Program and the principle of mutual obligation underpinning it.
Work for the Dole means those who receive benefits give something back to the community that supports them.
It means unemployed people gain skills and experience, along with pride and self-esteem.
It means charities, not-for-profits and other community groups get extra pairs of hands to do valuable community work.
Labor let Work for the Dole wither, the Coalition Government has reinvigorated it.
Work for the Dole is fundamental to our efforts to get people off welfare and into work.
The Government will not be abolishing Work for the Dole. Any suggestion to the contrary is simply incorrect.
