The Morrison Government is making it easier to engage with Australia’s world-class vocational education and training (VET) graduates, training providers and employers.

The Australian VET Alumni portal, available through, provides a place to showcase the inspirational professional journeys of the best and brightest in vocational education and training.

Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, said she was delighted to launch the portal to coincide with the 2019 Australian Training Awards.

“I am passionate about raising the profile of Australia’s VET system and highlighting the exciting and financially rewarding opportunities it provides across all industries,” Minister Cash said.

“The finalists from this year’s Australian Training Awards will be inducted into the Australian VET Alumni program.”

The Australian VET Alumni program is a national community of VET graduates, registered training organisations, practitioners and businesses dedicated to sharing their journey with Australians to encourage greater participation and best practice in VET.

The Assistant Minister for Vocational Education, Training and Apprenticeships said VET Alumni are already leaders in their field – this portal will enhance that role, to encourage greater engagement and inspire our future VET students.

“The portal now provides Alumni with a platform to tell their story and inspire others to achieve their goals through VET – no matter if they are an apprentice encouraging others to pursue an apprenticeship pathway, or a small business promoting the value of VET to reach their business goals,” Assistant Minister Irons said.

The portal also equips Alumni with information and resources to help them undertake their important role as leaders in the VET system.

Members of the public will be able to search for Alumni in particular areas, within an industry or with certain qualifications and request bookings for Alumni to attend events, such as careers fairs and industry forums.
