A Jobs Fair in Gippsland on Thursday 5 September 2019 will showcase a range of employment opportunities for local job seekers.
The Gippsland Jobs Fair, funded by the Morrison Government, will bring together job seekers and more than 40 local businesses who will host booths and promote employment opportunities available in the region.
Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, said the jobs fair will provide people looking for work an opportunity to speak directly with employers and employment service providers.
“The Morrison Government has held jobs fairs in various locations around Australia. They have been extremely successful with more than 14,000 people attending jobs fairs over the last year,” Minister Cash said.
“The Government is committed to getting more Australians off welfare and into work. As Minister for Employment, I am determined to ensure that job seekers in Gippsland and the wider community are given all the assistance they need to gain sustainable employment.”
Member for Gippsland, Darren Chester says the jobs fair provides job hunters with information and employment options they may not otherwise have found.
“I encourage anyone looking for a job to consider attending the Gippsland Jobs Fair and taking advantage of the range of information and businesses that will be available,” Mr Chester said.
“Our government is committed to getting more Australians into work and I am determined to ensure that job seekers in my electorate of Gippsland are given all the assistance they need to gain sustainable employment.”
Throughout the day, workshops and information sessions will provide job seekers with practical help on their résumés, information about the types of jobs that are available in the region, and tips on preparing for an interview.
Job seekers will hear from local organisations about how to effectively tap into the job market and self-employment opportunities available in the region.
The Jobs Fair is a free event at the Kernot Hall, Corner Princes Drive and Monash Way, Morwell, from 10 am to 3 pm on Thursday, 5 September 2019.
