Appointments to Fair Work Commission

Minister for Employment, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, today announced the appointment of two new Deputy Presidents and a Commissioner to the Fair Work Commission.

Mr Peter Anderson has been appointed Deputy President, commencing on 18 April 2017. Mr Anderson is a former Chief Executive of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry who now runs his own consultancy, Pinpoint Enterprises, an industrial and business consultancy.

Mr Alan Colman has been appointed Deputy President, commencing on 26 April 2017. Mr Colman is a Partner at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Melbourne.

Ms Sarah McKinnon has been appointed Commissioner, commencing on 1 May 2017. Ms McKinnon is General Manager, Workplace Relations and Legal Affairs, National Farmers’ Federation.

The terms of these appointments are from the date of effect until the appointees reach the statutory retirement age of 65.

The three appointees have excellent knowledge and the necessary experience for appointments to the Commission under the Fair Work Act. The appointees are highly qualified and well regarded in their respective professions. They will bring comprehensive expertise and valuable skills to the Fair Work Commission.
